St. Columba's Catholic Boys' School

KS4 Outcomes/Progress 8

Students at St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School celebrated a set of exam results once again above the boys’ national average figure – a real achievement in a selective Borough. Particularly strong results in Modern Foreign Languages, RS and Art sit well alongside a pleasing numbers of students going on to take A Level maths having achieved the high grades they needed and the continuing trend of improvement in English Language which is essential for students for their next steps.

Amongst the many success stories Archie was the student showing the most Progress at St Columba’s; whilst Alan, Roshan and Leon secured impressive amounts of Grade 9s. Victor’s impressive set of results included an RS mark comfortably in the top percentile in the country. A special mention must go to Filip who joined our community in Year 11 and still secured six Grade 5s – we wish him every success in the next stage of his education.

Headteacher Dave Evans commented “I am pleased that so many of our St Columba’s boys in the Class of 23 have responded to our challenge to Rise Above; high expectations have seen them achieve grades that have enabled the students to take up a wide range of Post 16 places from A levels at Christ the King or local grammar schools, through vocational courses at other sixth form providers to apprenticeships. The results are testament to the hard work of the students supported by all the fantastic staff at St Columba’s.”

St Columba’s has an Open Morning on Saturday 7th October for prospective students and their parents to come and discover what makes St Columba’s unique and why the school is oversubscribed.
