Rugby Yr7 13/10/15 Met Kent Festival

On Tuesday 13th October 2015 saw the New Year 7’s open their account in the rugby fixtures. We travelled to Old Colfeians RFC where we took part in our first festival. We have trained hard for this moment with the PE staff in lessons and after school attending training sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday. We played a total of 5 matches winning 3, drawing 1 and losing 1. Rugby is not a game for the fainted hearted we had our normal injuries and stud marks. An ice pack here and there soon put it all right. There was some outstanding players, playing above their ability for their first ever game. Once we had settled down and got into our stride we made our tackles count and took out the opposition big men at an early stage.  I would like to thank the parents who attended to support the team standing on the touch line on a cold Tuesday afternoon. I must not leave out William Rickard in year 11 who has given up his time to help coach the boys after school on Tuesday and Thursday. A big well done must go to the team you played outstandingly and should be proud of what you have achieved in such a short time.
